paper ball chandelier

remember this post a few months back about how we were loving the paper balls a bride and her mom had made for their wedding?

well, anyone interested to see the final product???

the paper balls were incorporated throughout the event, but the most dramatic look was this "chandelier" we created to hang over their pie table.  after it was lit just so by the amazing techworks, it really looked amazing!

something blue

a great way to give a wedding vintage charm is to use patterned and vintage china.  we're currently collecting dinner plates in shades of blue to use for a wedding next april- and we're loving the mix so far!
here are some great inspiration images (via pinterest) of weddings with vintage china table settings:

and they look great on a buffet, too!!

a DIY must!

we love that spray paint is now available in that oh so perfect shade of dark turquoise. or lagoon, as rust-oleum calls it. we're a little obsessed with turquoise around here. but the first step is admitting you have a problem, right?

stuff we love :: thursday, september 29

....the "redneck toasting glasses" the mother of the bride found for this weekend's wedding. we'll be serving the bride and groom's favorite drink, jack and coke, in mason jars to guests....so they'll toast with jack and coke too! seriously, how perfect??

stuff we love :: wednesday, august 31

...these paper balls a bride and her mom made for their wedding. time consuming but totally personal and great for that handcrafted, DIY look. we turned them into a big mobile art installation /chandelier that we hung over the cake table at their wedding last saturday. we also incorporated them into the decor in other ways. stay tuned for pictures of the end result!

stuff we love :: wednesday, august 10th

....one of our august bride's mom's collection of vintage rookwood pottery. you better believe we're using these babies for the wedding, filled to the brim with lovely flowers and clustered down the middle of long dinner tables. there are all kinds of shapes and sizes- fish, birds, tree trunks, you name it, she's got it. we all suddenly feel very inspired to collect vintage pottery!

lipman sneak peek :: pottery barn advent calendar!

we spotted this advent calendar back around christmas at pottery barn and immediately loved its rustic feel and hanging buckets. we KNEW there would be a way to incorporate it into a vintage-inspired wedding...and so we bought away...

and, we found the perfect use for it....program holder!

the programs for the lipman wedding (more details to come soon!) were printed on card stock and then rolled into scrolls & tied with a teal ribbon. we hung the calendar from a tree and stuffed it full of the scrolls - we love the way it turned out!

so...it may be filled with christmas goodies come december, but we're putting it to good use until then!
