Symphony Spring Fashion Show: Trunk Show

Last week, we had a blast working with the folks at the Nashville Symphony Orchestra League for the Marchesa Spring 2011 trunk show - an event that leads up to the April 26th Symphony Spring Fashion Show, as well as a second trunk show (both of which will also feature Marchesa's fabulous designs!)

The fall trunk show was held at Nashville venue Spaces in Belle Meade.This was such a perfect place for the show, and we loved transforming Spaces into a chic boutique for this event.


The sleek, modern vibe at spaces was enhanced by chic white draping...


We gave the venue a warm ambience with crystal chandeliers and vases filled with floating candles:

Modern white sofas and ottomans as well as white Chippendale chairs provided seating for shoppers.



We also used white draping and full-length mirrors to create dressing rooms...

Marchesa's signature hue of pink was introduced into the space through dramatic arrangements of vibrant pink roses accented with chartreuse spider mums.

Spider mums provided such a great burst of color in these retro white containers...

A stunning Marchesa gown was elevated in the center of the room (scattered hot pink rose petals and candles were also added around it after this photo).



And the gowns...did we mention the gorgeous gowns?!

Marchesa's designs were brought to Nashville by a wonderful group from Marissa Collections in Naples, Florida, as well as Marchesa's VP of Sales

Also featured at the trunk show were jewels from Erickson Beaman...absolutely stunning pieces!

emily + gregory's wedding: the full rundown!

finally, some details from the biedenharn/fenske wedding back in july....this couple was originally set to be married at the schermerhorn. due to the flood and closing of the schermerhorn, we had to do some quick thinking--luckily, war memorial was still available for their date, so we were able to do a quick switcheroo! emily and gregory were such a lovely couple, and it was so fun to be a part of their big day.

the beautiful bride with her bouquet...have we mentioned yet that we love photographer mary rosenbaum? her pictures totally captured the romantic and soft feel of this wedding. emily looks so classic in this picture!

we created seating areas on each side of the auditorium with draping, white banquettes, and long tables with stone colored linens. the floral arrangements were long to match the tables, with a grouping of curly willow, white orchids, and hanging candles in the middle

arrangement on the stage, with allium, lillies, more curly willow, roses, and greenery

okay, so we have to talk about the food on this one. tomkats did an amazing job with different stations representing the bride and groom's favorite cultural foods. the pan asian station had dumplings, sushi, and a pad thai bar!

in addition to the cultural delights of the far east, there was, of course, southern food to be had. tomkats was frying up fried green tomatoes to order! yum!

we have another great wedding video to share with you....this one from michael howard photography, of our adorable august bride & groom catherine and gable...

why do we love these teaser videos so much??!? maybe it's the music, the emotion, or the fact that it's a wonderful summary for us of all the months of work and love we put into our weddings? either way, catherine & gable's adorable personalities really shine through on this one. they were such a joy to work with!

we have some exciting news to share....the rehearsal dinner we did back in april at puckett's grocery is featured today on style me pretty! as in THE style me pretty. shot by the talented michael howard, we are just so excited that they chose to feature this event that was very near and dear to our heart. check it out here!

schermerhorn open house

back in march, we had so much fun doing an open house at the schermerhorn symphony center. it made what happened less than two months later hit very close to home....not only do we love the venue along with its' wonderful people, but we, like many others, had a bride that we were forced to find a new venue for (which thankfully worked out great- more on that in a later post)

so, as a tribute to one of our favorite venues in nashville, we wanted to post some of the pictures from the open house. we can't wait until this beautiful place is back up and running, and know that they need our community's support in every way to get their feet back on the ground!

fun linens from connie duglin for the founders room....black and white damask and faux lamps filled with chartreuse cymbidium orchids, with a mix of very modern black and white appetizer and dinner plates

more pretty linens from connie duglin for the upstairs lobby! aqua with fun flowers in peaches, oranges, fuschia and dark purple.

we did large lucite box light installations in the main hall, and created seating situations with surrounding banquettes, tables, and chiavari chairs. centerpieces on the cocktail tables were beds of moss topped with glass cloches filled with twisted calla lillies and orchids.

biedenharn-fenske wedding- sneek peak!

just a little tidbit from the wedding we did back in july with the fabulous mary rosenbaum. loving the antique feel of these photos! stay tuned for more details...

digiorgio-robertson wedding

back on june 13th, we did a wedding at one of our favorite venues, the pleasant hill mansion at the governors club in brentwood. the wedding took place outside under the beautiful gazebo, and the celebration continued with the reception spread out in the amazing antebellum mansion, the sprawling tent connected to the side door, and out on the grass lawn. alyssa and jay wanted a southern affair infused with color and personality, so, as you can imagine, we had a lot of fun with their flowers!

loved the bride's organza pleated dress with rhinestone detail and the bridesmaids' hot pink dresses- we wanted those bouquets to pop!

for the ceremony, we did floral arrangements in giant iron containers on either side of the gazebo, which were joined together at the top by arches of lush eleagnus branches

and we hung lit chandeliers from the branches of the giant old trees on the lawn

it wasn't easy to keep the flowers in the adorable flower girl's hair, but this pic is worth it!

we dressed up the cake (made by a family friend) with dahlias, roses, orchids, hydrangeas, and calla lilies in vibrant colors

these hung on the sweet white picket fence at the back entrance to the porch

the food was phenomenal! the salmon with mango salsa

was an especially big hit.
our twisted iron bases make an appearance again on the tables on the lawn, along with votive candles, black chairs, and white linen tablecloths

did i mention we had fun with the flowers?!?
